Headsets

If you have a bad headset, you’ll sound like garbage, which means you’ll lose authority, trust, and your client won’t really care what you’re talking about.

If the client can hear the people next to you, you sound like you’re in a call center, which destroys trust and credibility, ESPECIALLY if they hear someone say the same thing as you. Our scripts work like magic because the people we talk to haven’t heard it. If they hear it before you say it, you’ll get ran around in circles by a client that’s sketched out.

There are two popular headsets, and neither are cheap. If you want cheap, stay with the one the office gave you, it’s not worth spending $100-$125 on a headset that’ll perform the same as the one you got for free.

The cheaper option is the Yealink BH76 Plus. A couple of the top agents here use it, and I’ve tested it on phone calls for people who bought it. It’s pretty good and you likely won’t run into many if any issues.

The more expensive option is the Jabra Evolve2 85. They’ve been in use for years, and for good reason. They’re older than the Yealink, but they have better noise cancellation capabilities, both for your microphone and for reducing exterior noise. I wouldn’t say it’s worth over double the price, but if you’re successful here, $250 is a drop in a very large bucket.
